Necklace of shells and shark vertebrae

Rose Mamuniny is one elder who has permission to use shark vertebrae pieces which she combines with necklace shells. These materials have been gathered over a year and prepared by Rose at Galiwinku where she lives, Northeastern Arnhem Land in the top end of Australia. She works with feathers, shark vertebrae and shells, these are significant materials for the Yolngu community. All Roses works are collectors items and no two are the same. This necklace measures 700mm in circumference, and features shark vertebrae in double and triplet form.
