Sandra Kerr
![]() Lives and works in Sydney. Sandra lives and works on the edge of the wetlands, with a lake, the sea and the bush within walking distance. Her love of colour has meant that her main interest for over 38 years has been working and experimenting with the techniques of enamelling, though her original training was as a painter and printmaker. However, a return to teaching made her reconsider silver working techniques she had not used for some time. She turned to the sea to produce a range for Definite Style of cast silver jewellery and pendants using designs that include her favourite enamelling technique, basse taille where the silver is textured. She continues to use themes that have always fuelled her work, archaeology and ancient designs, the sea and her own wild garden. The local landscape provides endless inspiration; many of her designs reflect natural forms and include symbols, especially the spiral and other references to prehistory. Sandra has exhibited her enamels in many group shows throughout Australia and overseas. Want to see more work by Sandra Kerr?
