Elsie lives with her family in the community of Maningrida, East Central Arnhem Land, she is the most well known necklace maker at the Maningrida Arts Centre. Her necklaces have been shown around Australia including, New works from Maningrida, Horus and Deloris Gallery, Sydney in 2006, Threads of time, Burrinja Gallery Victoria in 2003, Wild nature in contemporary Australian art and craft, Jam Factory Adelaide, SA in 2002 and in 2001 Art on a string: Threaded Objects from the Central Desert and Arnhem Land, Object Gallery, Sydney.
Elsie uses shells, seeds and shark vertebrae in her necklaces which have a distinctive style, use of colour and pattern.
